What We Believe

Hope Family Fellowship is an Assemblies of God Church in Winnsboro, TX. We teach and practice the sixteen fundamental truths. A more detailed description will all supporting Scripture references can be found here.

01

We believe the Scriptures are the inspired, infallible Word of God and are useful for teaching us how to live according to the plan of God.

02

We believe there is only one true God revealed in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

03

We believe in the deity of Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God.

04

We believe that man was created good and upright. However, man by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God.

05

We believe there is hope and salvation. Man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God.

06

We believe the ordinances of the church are twofold: The ordinance of baptism by immersion and the ordinance of the Lord's Supper, consisting of the elements --bread and the fruit of the vine.

07

We believe all believers are entitled to, should ardently expect, and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit. This is separate from conversion and is not a requisite for salvation. This baptism in the Holy Spirit is empowerment for witnessing.

08

We believe the baptism of believers in the Holy Spirit is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives them utterance.

09

We believe that sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil and of dedication unto God.

10

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ-those who have accepted God's offer of salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The mission of the Church is to seek and save those who are lost.

11

We believe a divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for the fourfold purpose of leading the Church in: evangelization of the world, worship of God, building the body of believers, and meeting human needs through love and compassion.

12

We believe divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers.

13

We believe in the blessed hope of the Church. This is the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord. The Lord's coming is imminent.

14

We believe the second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, which is our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on earth for one thousand years.

15

We believe there will be a final judgment in which those who have rejected Christ  will be raised and judged according to their works. They will be consigned to eternal punishment in the lake of fire.

16

We believe according to the promise in the Bible, there will be a new heaven and a new earth where believers will dwell for eternity with the Lord.
